My Fiesta ST150 Build: From Stock to Stage 2
Follow one owner's journey from a bone-stock ST150 to a fully built Stage 2 pocket rocket, including every mod, every mistake, and every lesson learned.

The Beginning
I picked up my Fiesta ST150 in Performance Blue with 45,000 miles on the clock for £4,200. It was completely standard — not even a tyre change from the previous owner.
Month 1: The Basics
First things first: a full service. Oil, filter, spark plugs, air filter, brake fluid. Total cost: £180 doing it myself.
Then came the first mod: a Cobra Sport cat-back exhaust. The transformation in sound was incredible. From a quiet hatchback to something that actually sounds like a sports car.
Month 3: Induction & Remap
Next up was a Ramair induction kit and a Stage 1 remap from Pumaspeed. The difference was night and day — the car felt like it had gained 30bhp (realistically about 20). The throttle response was so much sharper.
Month 6: Suspension
The stock suspension was fine for daily driving, but I wanted something more focused. I went with BC Racing coilovers — adjustable damping and height. The car now sits about 30mm lower and handles like it's on rails.
Month 9: Stage 2
The big one: 4-2-1 manifold, decat, and Stage 2 remap. This took the car to around 185bhp at the wheels. The power delivery is completely different — it pulls hard all the way to the redline.
Total Spend
| Mod | Cost |
|---|---|
| Cobra Sport exhaust | £450 |
| Ramair induction | £120 |
| Stage 1 remap | £300 |
| BC Racing coilovers | £750 |
| 4-2-1 manifold | £380 |
| Decat pipe | £90 |
| Stage 2 remap | £350 |
| Total | £2,440 |
Was it worth it? Absolutely. The ST150 is one of the best driver's cars you can buy for under £5,000, and with these mods it punches well above its weight.
