Fiesta ST150 60,000 Mile Service Guide
A comprehensive maintenance checklist for high-mileage Fiesta ST150s. Keep your pocket rocket running strong.
The 60k Mile Service
The Fiesta ST150 is a robust little car, but at 60,000 miles there are several items that need attention to keep it performing at its best.
Essential Checks
Engine
- Cambelt and water pump — If not already done, this is CRITICAL. The ST150's Duratec engine is an interference design. A snapped belt = destroyed engine.
- Spark plugs — Replace with NGK or Motorcraft items
- Coil pack — Common failure point. Replace if misfiring
- Oil and filter — Use 5W-30 fully synthetic
Suspension
- Front drop links — Almost certainly worn by now
- Rear beam bushes — Check for cracking
- Shock absorbers — If the originals are still fitted, they're likely tired
Brakes
- Discs and pads — Measure disc thickness, replace if below minimum
- Brake fluid — Flush and replace with DOT 4
- Handbrake cables — Adjust or replace if seized
Other
- Thermostat — Known weak point, replace preventatively
- Coolant — Full flush and refill
- Gearbox oil — Often overlooked, but makes a noticeable difference to shift quality
Budget
Expect to spend £400-600 on parts if doing it yourself, or £800-1200 at a specialist garage.
